Right & Wrong. Who decides?

One flaw in our human nature is that we want to be right and shrink from being declared wrong. In our natural state, we are strongly inclined to resist any superior authority that lawfully speaks into our choices. To be right is moral and ethical, so conversely, to be wrong is immoral and unethical. There are only two ways. The one that is right, moral, and ethical leads to eternal bliss in heaven. The other that is wrong, immoral, and unethical culminates in everlasting woe and regrets in a place called hell.

The Bible declares “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12 & 16:25). This choice between right and wrong really is a life-and-death matter. It’s not what seems right that must be chosen, but it’s what is eternally right! And so, who decides?

Every human is fallible. While on earth, we are temporary creatures with many limitations. We have a limited existence, a limited understanding, and a limited ability. God, on the other hand, is eternal, omniscient, and transcendent. In His preeminence, the issues of morality and ethics are His to determine, since He’s both the creator and sustainer of this universe. These facts He has clearly declared to us in His Word.

Consider, for example, what Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He speaks of only one way, one truth, and one life. The one life is bliss in heaven, the one truth is that our moral God has a perfect ethic, and the one way is redemption through Jesus Christ.

My friends, it’s very simple. We can choose the right way of Jesus and live, or we can default to the wrong way of all anti-God forces and die. It’s our choice and our eternity.
