Who is Jesus?

More than 2000 years ago there was a man born contrary to the laws of nature.

He laid aside his purple robe for a peasant’s tunic. He was rich, yet for our sake he became poor. This man lived in poverty and was raised in obscurity. He received no formal education and never possessed wealth or widespread influence. He never traveled extensively. He seldom crossed the boundary of the country in which he lived.

But this man’s life has changed the course of history.

In infancy he startled a king. In childhood he amazed religious scholars. In manhood he ruled the course of nature—walked on stormy waves and hushed the raging sea to sleep.

He healed multitudes without medicine and made no charge for his services. He never practiced psychiatry. Yet he has healed more broken hearts than all the doctors far and near.

He never wrote a book. Yet his life has inspired more books than any other man. He never wrote a song. Yet he has furnished the theme for more songs than all songwriters combined.

He never founded a college, but all the schools put together cannot boast of having as many students. He never marshaled an army. He never drafted a soldier or fired a gun. Yet no leader ever had more rebels surrender to him without a shot fired.

Herod could not kill him. Satan could not seduce him. His enemies could not destroy him. The grave could not hold him. After three days he rose from the dead, alive forevermore!

He is the ever-perfect One. He is the Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. This man stands forth upon the highest pinnacle of heavenly glory, proclaimed by God, acknowledged by angels, adored by his people, and feared by demons as the risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

What the Bible says about the incomparable Jesus Christ…

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all…he hath poured out his soul unto death…and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:6, 12

Christ Jesus…being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but…took upon him the form of a servant…and, being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore, God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name, which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God, the Father. Philippians 2:5-11

If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9-10

  1. I’m struggling to believe that God has a plan for me. How do I know that he actually DOES have a plan for me? Is it written down anywhere? Where can I find this plan that is written down? Is it like the Mormons where they have the golden plates with the word of God? I wish I was Mormon…anyway I need help finding this “God plan” ASAP because I am #struggling and need all the help I can get because I feel as though I’m just…wandering…

    • Start by reading the New Testament, especially the Gospels. They will introduce you to Jesus, who is the answer to the kind of struggles you describe.

    • Hi Sister Rebecca,

God loves you and has a wonderful plan for you.

The Bible says in Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” and in Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death [eternal separation from the presence of God], but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

      God’s Love:

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

God is Holy, He could not overlook the your sins but He loves you. You sins need to pay the penalty which is death [eternal separation from the presence of God] (Romans 6:23).

In order for God to reconcile His love for you, His Holiness and being a Just Judge (punishing your sins). He gave is only begotten Son (Jesus Christ) to die on the cross to pay the penalty of your sins (taking the punishment of your sins upon Himself) and crediting to you His righteousness upon believing (trusting by faith) on Him. This is God’s wonderful plan for you, to save you from the sure damnation into Hell because of your sins.

The Bible says in Romans 10:9-10, 13:

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For ‘whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'”

Have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Romans 10:17 – “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

      God bless you.

  2. Lizbeth Orellana

I have several questions but my main one is how do we know for a fact that God wrote the Bible , and please don’t say the Bible says. I find it hard to believe when it was written by man and can say just about anything

    • There are various books and websites that address this question. You could start by looking at https://www.desiringgod.org/messages/unmistakable-glory. It takes a bit of a different approach to the question that might appeal to you.

    • Hi Lizbeth Orellana,

The Bible is a collection of 66 books. 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. The Bible was written in the span of 1500 years from the first book to the last book. The Bible was written by 40 different people from different walks of life i.e., prophets, kings, judges, governors, scribes, pharisees, fishermen, tax collector, doctor, etc. and from different time and yet the 66 books of the Bible have only one theme. Because “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.” (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Bible Story is “God’s Salvation in Christ Jesus”.

God loves you and has a wonderful plan for you.

    • Personal answer. God is not man-made. Creator creates. However, bible is written, hand written by people. How do we know the message really came from God and wasn’t a scam?
I believed after witnessing personal miracles, and supernatural thi gs in my own life. I prayed, and somthing changed. Or I came from belief. Baptism opened my eyes further. Goodbye sister!
