Follow Jesus
Jesus left the pinnacle of glory, to be born in a stable in Bethlehem. Then at the end, He went a dark and dreadful second mile to the grave.
Christ’s Beauty
According to Isaiah 53:1, Christ’s appearance. wasn’t outstanding. He wasn’t handsome. He did not stand out in a crowd. Where then is the beauty found in Christ?
Our Tests Matter
Never think that your particular problems and tests are not important to God. Read the first couple chapters of the book of Job. This discussion between God and Satan in the book of Job is a rare glimpse into what goes on behind the scenes in God’s dealing with you and me.
The Burden of “Now”
Christ calls us to face our commission in the work of the harvest of souls. He points us to the harvest and inspires us to take part in it. He urges us to consider its readiness and to not make excuses.
Feelings of Faith
Did you awake this morning and harbor doubts about your Christian life? Maybe you did not feel like a Christian. Did you know that if we allow the devil to do so, he will attempt to lead us to an experiential, feeling-based relationship with God that is really no relationship at all?
Learning From History
We are the product of our yesterdays. From yesterday came the influences and experiences that have affected our lives to make us what we are today.
Intercessors Needed
One faithful man on his knees in his closet, interceding for his church and community will have more impact on that church or community than any other single thing he could do?
Watch and Pray
Look at the Gethsemane experience and the things that Jesus did and said there. Here we will find a guide for how we can resist temptation. I believe Jesus faced His greatest struggle in this garden.
Law or Righteousness?
Jesus goes to great length in the Sermon on the Mount to help us understand that there is a higher standard of righteousness than the moral law. He takes issue with what no man had ever questioned; the validity of the law. He declared that to abstain from wrong deeds alone is not sufficient.
Christ Knows Us
We can hide nothing from Christ. So, let us be transparent. If your prayers are not answered, He is probably that One whom you hear knocking just now, wanting entrance.
Judgment
We do not like the thought of judgment. We do not like the thought of hell, but the Word of God exclaims judgment clearly.
God’s Invitation is for You
There are many gracious invitations in the scriptures. Let’s look at some of them and be inspired to respond to God’s faithful calls to “Come.”
Why, Lord, Why?
Our responses in difficult situations are important because hardships are God’s way of bringing us to the glories of heaven. Our prayers for the removal of our affliction may be against the will of God.
Unmet Longings
Even though our fallen nature yearns for satisfaction in this world, we find in ourselves a deeper desire as we look to regain the lost paradise of Eden. We cannot make sense of life without the eternal.
Jesus Cannot be Hidden
Jesus tried to downplay his work. After healing someone, he often asked those he healed to tell no one. But the Lord Jesus could not be hidden.
How should we pray?
How many times do we approach God with so much to pray for that we do not know where to begin? We are groaning about it, so it makes sense that the Spirit intercedes for us with groanings also.
Who Am I?
Our understanding of who we are is vital to our assurance as a Christian. We must know who we are. Jesus said that our fruits will tell others who we are (Matthew 7: 16-20).
Hath God Said?
The devil has been trying to usurp the authority of God ever since he vowed to exalt himself above God in heaven (Isaiah 14:14). In his introduction to Adam and Eve in the Garden, he raised the false possibility to Eve that he knew more than God.
Why I Love to Write
I will not be able to meet all the readers of these emails. Although I would truly love to meet you some day. For now I will be satisfied to just share a little of my heart through this method. I want to share briefly, “Why I love to write.”
The Inevitable Interview
We cannot evade the Divine Interview. If we postpone it today, we are sure to face it tomorrow; resist it in time, and you will experience it in eternity. Where exactly do you want this to take place? Here, where mercy is active, or over there where mercy has ceased?
Cast Your Cares on God
God wants to carry our burdens. He calls us to cast all our cares upon him, for he cares for us. He offers to give rest to those who are heavily burdened.
Is This Mercy?
God is rich in mercy. His love for us insures His mercy. But God is also just. How can He be both just and merciful at the same time?
How Great Is God’s Mercy?
There is no sin so great, no deed so dark, that the mercy of God through Christ Jesus will not forgive and forget. Claim it!
Hindered Prayer
Are you married? Were you married but are no longer? Whatever the case, these following words reveal a little of the mind of God for marriage.
Have You Been to the Mountain?
God loves to meet with His people. He loves their worship and praise. He longs to hear their prayers and observe their growth into holiness. He wants our worship.
Denying Ourselves in the World
If we will follow after Christ, then we must deny ourselves. It is a walk in death to the old man, the old flesh… Christ’s life must be seen in us.
Judgment at the House of God
Judgement must begin at the house of God. God means to try Christians now, before they stand before Him in the Judgment.
Grace and Disgrace
“Do not abhor us, for thy name’s sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.” Jeremiah 14:21
