Praise Comes From Joy

Sept 01, 2020

Good Morning Fellow Travelers,

Read: Psalm 96

O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. (Psa 96:9 KJV)

Worship is simply beholding God in His splendor and majesty, mercy and grace, salvation and beauty, and in His holiness. Worship is exclaiming our love and admiration for God with a living and expectant joy.

Hear the worship of the Psalmist:

“I will love thee, O Lord my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my strength in whom I trust, my buckler and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” (Psalm 18:1-3)

“O Lord, our Lord how excellent is thy name in all the earth, who hath set thy glory above the heavens.” (Psalm 8:1)

We can feel the joy springing forth from the Psalmist’s praises as he proves his love and devotion to God. He expresses how comfortable he is in the presence of God. The question must follow: “How comfortable are you with God? How comfortable are you with true Christianity? Is it a big headache to you? Would you really be satisfied to do without it? Does your life show the joy you have in Christ?”

It will be difficult to convince the world of the validity of our faith unless they can see the true joy of Christ in us. Does our testimony proclaim that Christianity is wonderful and real and that Jesus changes hearts today? It should be settled in our hearts that what the world has to offer is not an alternative. We must set our minds on Christ and His Kingdom to experience true joy.

Someone has rightly stated that we cannot say Jesus is all we need, until Jesus is all we have.
