Good Morning Fellow Travelers,

Read: John 3:1-21

“But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” John 3:21

Indeed the Light has come in the Person of the Son of God, and His light has splashed itself across the ages of time and the pages of space. Christ can truly say, “I am the Light of the world.” If we do not believe in Him as the light that lights every man who comes into the world, then we face the condemnation of darkness forever.

Jesus did not come into the world to condemn the world, but rather He came to save the world by bringing light into it. Men hate the light of truth because it reveals their true nature. Many would say that they couldn’t care less about the light that Christ brought, or deny that Christ brought light at all. But why would they hate something they do not believe exists?

People make fun of the reality of the judgement of sin and eternal punishment, and God gives them the freedom to do that. But when they close their eyes in death in a condemned state, their fate is none other than outer darkness. People who love darkness and hate the light because they know it will expose them for who they really are, are condemned already to that darkness.

We see a united and intense effort to destroy the light of Christ in our world today. Men and women glorify darkness because they love the deeds they commit when the light goes out. The sinful orgies, the riotous carousings, all need darkness. And so, darkness falls over the world while foolish unbelieving man tries to convince himself that life is a party of sin.

But darkness has to flee when the light shines. Rather than fear the light of God because it reveals you sin, embrace it. While you walk in the light, darkness cannot control you. Light brings freedom.
