Good Morning Fellow Travelers,
Read: Matthew 7:13-29
“Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.” Luke 12:8-9
A soul in rebellion against Christ stands before the Christ he has denied. He has died in rebellion and has already bowed prostrate before Christ, and now in disbelief hears himself acknowledge this same Christ as Lord. (Philippians 2:9-11)
His denial on earth had been complete. Every thought that arose in his breast, that Christ as his Creator had a supreme claim upon him, was denied. Every friend who had shared with him the message of the Gospel had been spurned with mocking words. Every tinge of conscience had been suppressed, and he had joked, cursed, and swore, boldly claiming immunity from the judgement. He had even laughed at the suggestion of hell, saying if such a place existed many of his friends would be there and it would be a party.
Now, when grace and the entreaty of the Spirit of God have ceased for him, he stands, still unbroken and defiant before the blessed Saviour he has denied, naked before the Father and all the holy angels. (Matthew 10:33)
A holy hush pervades the entire assembly as Christ speaks, “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. He that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. Depart from me ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” (1 John 2:22-23; Luke 12:8-9)
Two mighty angels seize him and with mighty power cast him into a burning pit with no bottom, to live forever in the presence of the devil he so loved to obey.
“Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.” (Isaiah 55:6-7)
